About

Lung cancer is one of the deadliest types of cancer, killing over 160,000 people each year. This number amounts to more deaths than breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer combined. What makes this type of cancer so fatal is the difficulty to detect the tumor early on.

A lot of times, patients that experience early symptoms in the initial stages of lung cancer are treated for fever, common cold, pneumonia, etc. Other times, people believe that fatigue and shortness of breath are a result of aging. This is problematic because the tumor can possibly double in size in just a few months without initial treatment. Thus, it becomes exceptionally difficult for doctors to treat Stage 4 cancer patients and the probability of survival plummets.

Cancer may have started the fight, but I will finish it

Our Mission

Instead of inventing a cure for the disease, the goal of CanSym is to analyze past cancer datasets and draw conclusions based on the early symptoms of the disease. We use various ML/AI algorithms to create a risk profile. Our purpose is to inform individuals about the possibility of a growing tumor so that they can seek medical help early.

Our Vision

Our hope is that if patients are diagnosed early on, doctors can treat them successfully.
